Parcel delivery to Armenia


Armenia is a landlocked country located in the Causcaus region of Eurasia. It is bordered by Turkey, Georgia, Azerbaijan, and Iran. Armenia has a short supply of natural resources and is heavily dependent on imports from abroad. The economy is largely industrial manufacturing, mostly chemicals, electronics, machinery, processed food, synthetic rubber, and textiles. The country has made steady economic progress despite difficulties with civic matters and natural disaster. The roads to Iran and Georgia are impassable.


Customs for parcel shipping to Armenia


Goods may be imported permanently, temporarily, into a customs controlled warehouse, or into a trade free free trade zone. Declarants have the right to inspect their goods before submitting a SAD. After reviewing the SAD, customs will put the parcel in one of three categories. The red channel is for freight subject to a full inspection. The yellow channel is for partial inspection of freight. And the green channel is for informal clearance. Parcels valued at up to 20 kilograms and $100 USD are usually admitted tax and duty free.


Security concerns when shipping parcels to Armenia


The following commodities are prohibited to import into Armenia: Hate motvated propaganda condoning terrorism, racism, violence, war, anti-semitism or fascism, drug paraphernalia, bearer documents, graphite, psychotherapy medications, tobacco, illicit narotics, weapons, firearms and ammunition, explosives, plants or their products, unregistered fruits and vegetables and meat, counterfeit currency or goods, pornography, hazardous materials and dangerous goods.


Parcel documents delivering to Armenia


Imports are declared using a Single Administrative DOcument (SAD). In addition to the SAD there should be included a transit manifest, an order for transfer of customs payments to the budget, and a customs user fee collection receipt. Any type of product subject to  phytosanitary regulations requires a Certificate of Russian Testing (ROSTEST). There are certain commodities which may require an import license such as electronics, cosmetics, machine parts, microfilm and negatives, textiles, veterinary products, and vitamins. Pharmaceuticals require approval from the Ministry of Health.
